Stripes in Camden and Primrose Hill
/You all know by now that I am a SW Londoner. However, that does not mean I like to spend all my social life there. On the contrary, I like to explore new neighborhoods that are unknown to me. It's such an adventure!
For that same reason, a couple of weeks ago when the sun was up, I decided to head North and discover what that side of the city had to offer. Let me tell you: It was GREAT.
North London has always mean to me Camden Market. And there's so much more to it than that! Don't get me wrong, going to the market is super fun and I love people watching so there's no better place for it than here. Not to mention the great leather goods and accessories you can get around the area. So many bargains you might go craze...But if you wanna see something different, you need to divert from Camden High St and head towards Parkway Rd.
Food-wise, one of the spots that blew my mind was Hook. Hook is a gourmet fish & chips shop that opened this year. I am not a fish person and as the name of the restaurant says I was "HOOKED". I've never tried fish cod that was so good and so tasty! And the best? It wasn't greasy at all! They have a huge variety of options, all beautifully displayed and prepared. Please DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS PLACE!
From there I moved towards Gloucester Road and Regents Park Road and admired the colourful (and multi-million) storey houses while visiting other local establishments. My faves were:
Melrose and Morgan, an artisanal grocery store that will provide you with the nicest home made food you could ever have (a pitty my wallet can afford a weekly shop there!)
Sweet Things, a delicious bakery cafe serving the best cupcakes and home made gelato
Primrose Hill Books, the cutest old-style bookshop in the area. They also have reading events which are worth checking out!
To finish off the day, I ended up in Primrose Hill, one of the most exclusive and expensive residential areas in London. Also the biggest hill in the city, where you can have a fantastic view for free.
