Americano in Portobello

As much as I love Notting Hill and Portobello Market I find it difficult to find a good spot to have brunch (if you don't want to get ripped off for an "OK" meal, that is). Luckily, the guys from Electric Diner are here to save the day. Inspired by Chicago’s French-American Au Cheval, this place cries American all out.

The breakfast is FULL ON, you have not too many options other than meat, carbs and dairy, although there are of course few dishes for the veggies. Be advised: do not under any circumstances come here on a diet or any sort of restrictive regime, it’ll hurt. Hard.

Thankfully, my partner in crime for the occasion is a #foodiemonster like moi and we stuffed ourselves to death. I must admit I arrived to the Electric thinking it would be an ok brunch and left the place wondering when will I be back next, which usually never ever happens. Why is it so good, you must be questioning. For starters, the bacon. I mean, THE bacon. I don't know if you can properly see it in the picture below but I am talking serious business. I didn't know how thick and tasty bacon can be until then. Yep, that good.

Not only that, the coffee is great (which for a Spaniard in difficult, sometimes is difficult) and so are the rest of the drinks. The eggs royal and the avocado egg toast were extremely delicious and it left us feeling plenty full.

As if we didn't have enough, we decided to rest for a bit and try desserts. No decent meal is the same without one, right? We tried the Waffles with strawberry jam and clotted cream and one of their infamous donuts. OH-MY-GOD. I can now rest in peace.

I need a siesta. You need to get there, PRONTO.
