Wearing Red For CNY
/In a recent post I told you guys about how much art therapy and colour therapy has helped me through this pandemic. Wearing colourful and vibrant colours makes me feel happy and so when I found out Chinese New Year was coming, it only gave me more reason to wear one of my favourite colours: Red.
In Chinese culture, Red is a popular colour that symbolises luck, joy, and happiness. It also represents celebration, vitality, and fertility and many brides wear is as ward off evil. How cool is that?
The day to celebrate the New Year arrived and I partner with my new best friends at Hurr -the airbnb of fashion in London- to dress up for the occasion: a Giambatista Valli gown. From the minute I put this dress on til I took it off, I felt like a princess. Not only it fave me fiery power, I felt good in it. And by renting it I helped a little bit to keep a sustainable planet whilst loving fashion. Woop woop! What a great way to start the Lunar New Year.
As I wasn’t ready to let go off the dress so quickly (I had it in my possession for five days, after all), I decided to go for a walk in the hood and capture its beauty. I hope you feel it as much as I do.
Stay Safe,
TCB xx
