Casual Christmas Attire
/Hello careless readers,
This 2020 Christmas is certainly a little bit different than most years. Most of us are stuck or may be stuck at home with limited mobility, and it is almost a given that we will not take our nice outfits for a spin, but I hate to think that’s going to be the case! In fact, I refuse to think so and will not abide to the circumstances.
If there is anything that being at home this year has shown me is that we need to make the most of what we’ve got, whatever the circumstances are. What can I say, I own a lot of clothes, and I LOVE wearing them all, so why not trying making the most of it? Finding a new outfit to wear everyday gives me life and kind of purpose? It takes me to another world, sometimes even a different persona, I am a little bit crazy like that. For that reason, and because I am a bit of a shopaholic, I kept on researching and even buying! new outfits to wear during lockdown. Let me tell you, it’s been fun.
Like many have said (and I like to quote Vogue in this occasion), for those who love fashion, dressing up can be very powerful. Just because you are at home doesn’t mean you have to be wearing PJs all day and making an effort to look nice will enhance your creative thinking and put you in a nicer mood, fact.
Now I understand this is a tough call when all you do is move around your own apartment, and I understand it is much more comfy to stay on those cozy cotton jogging pants than a pair of tights (even if they are SKIMS) and a tight skirt but don’t forget it is Christmas! A time to celebrate. You know, you want it, you just need a little push. Ditch those pants and put your slip dress on!
You can go OTT and put or your glam, shiny outfits that are crying out to be dressed or you if you are only half convinced, you can go for a hybrid version, like the one I opted for on one of the last outings in London before the Holidays.
Who would have thought that a lumberjack shirt and a slip dress would fit so nicely?
Take care folks,
TCB xx
