Churches and Sinners at Mercato Mayfair
/Who knew there was a Grade I Listed Church less than 5 minutes walk from Selfridges? I didn’t. And I certainly did not know it was up for grabs to the best bidder, but I am very happy that the people behind Mercato Metropolitano got their hands on it.
WHAT is it then? A beautiful church turned into a Food Market. Underground there’s a well kept cellar serving refined wines and bubbles as well as delicious charcuterie and cheese. On the main floor and upstairs there’s a variety of trade vendors: from hand made pasta and pizza to middle easter pitas, dumplings and a sushi bar. Not to mention the holy German Kraft Beer Stall and the Chacha Cocktail Bar or Badiani’s Gelato, delicious!
WHY should you go?
Because… why the hell not? You are out and about on Oxford St, your shopping has got out of hands and you forgot about the time and now you are famished. This is without a doubt your best choice around! Inexpensive and with a variety of options. Also the gelato on offer is probably one of the best we’ve tried in the city recently. Now that is a big say!
WHERE? St. Mark's Church, N Audley St, Mayfair, London W1K 6ZA, United Kingdom
WHEN? 8am to 11pm most days except for Sundays, when it closes at 10pm. All in all pretty decent timings!
Enjoy!
