Coke ZERO, please

We recently had to move out of our pretty home in Dalston, and I had to go through the tedious task of going through your wardrobe and deciding what to keep and what to chuck. TOUGH! There was no doubt on this Coca-Cola skirt, to keep!

This was probably one of the first “designer” items I acquired (in my teens!) while I lived in Barcelona and I think it is still as cool as ever. I’m a suker for coca-cola, a great advocate of its advertising, and a lover of red! Hard trick.

Jazz-it up with some black boots and a hat, and you’ve got your outfit sorted! Midi skirts always make an outfit much more cooler, even for shorties like moi :)

Heat don't leave me

9C1A4847.jpg

Summer seriously IS the best season of the year. There's no need to carry a thousand layers to keep warm and you can grab an ice cream anytime, anywhere. What else would a girl want?

It's been difficult to process how amazing the weather in the city has been this year. Out of my 4 years living in London, the so-called 'Indian Summer' has never last this long. Now I just hope it stays forever.

To be able to dress like I were home, eat like I were home (if not better...let's not forget London has a paramount of foodie options), and even swim like I were home (hello, London Fields Lido) is the best feeling ever. And it's a feeling I don't want to let go, just yet.

You know any occasion is a good occasion to dress up, especially in my world. My profound love for gingham, colourful outfits and starts doesn’t seem to cease and so I thought, major dress for a casual walk by the South Bank? Sure!

I must admit I haven’t been able to be the shopping queen I usually am. This year travel has imposed its ruling over anything else, and I am totally swayed by it. Not that I am complaining, I am sailing on a boat in Montenegro as you read this…but it just means that my shopping has become much more restrained, only focusing on this that I reaaally, really like. If there is a shop I always visit when I go home, that’s Uterque. The winner of this season’s wardrobe, and probably the A/W, too. I’ve already scored few pieces from the new collection on my last visit home! Don’t miss out, it’s a BANG!

There's always time to dress up

There's always time to dress up. Specially if you are head over heels in your favourite US city: New York.

A good friend of mine once told me how amazing the spot her husband chose to propose to her in the city, and it wasn't until my last visit, that I got to understand what she meant. They got engaged a couple of years back at Gantry Plaza State Park, "with great views of Manhattan!" she said.

Skeptical me though: why going to such a remote spot when you can get amazing views of the city in Brooklyn, Williamsburg, for instance? Oh gurls, I was wrong. This spot has indeed GREAT views. And best of all, it's not crowded. There's even sun lounges to lay in during a hot sunny day! Only drawback is that there is not much around it. If you plan heading that way, make sure you grab some essentials (i.e. cigarettes, alcohol and minimal nibbles). You'll need them.

I was feeling quite fabulous that day, so I put on my favourite preppy style look from J. Crew :) Ah, I love mixing minimal white dresses with a splash of colour, specially if that is in gingham! I must admit my obsession for stars and gingham is worryingly increasing, but hey ho, off we go!

WHAT I WORE (if old, or sold out, there's similar items!)

The Unknown LIC

I think y'all know how much I love New York. It's been a long-time affair and the more I visit the Big Apple, the more I want to get to know her better.

I love visiting my usual shops and restaurants. getting my bagel from Black Seed and my matcha fix from Cha Cha Matcha, not without stopping at the uber cool and girl power shop Bulletin. But hipster stereotypes aside, every time I am there I like to discover something different. That's what keeps things interesting, right?

So, I decided to venture out and discover what I feel many New Yorkers don't even visit much: Long Island City, or LIC. It was surprising to see how empty most of it was on a Saturday morning! That, or everybody was still sleeping off their hangovers...Lucky them.

In any case, while wandering the streets of this yet to be trendy spot, we encounter ourselves with Magic - A HUGE Cola sign. I must admit, I love Coca-cola. It's definitely one of my weaknesses, along with fries and ice-cream (seriously, such a healthy diet). Unfortunately the sign was for Pepsi-Cola, its eternal enemy, but nevertheless a great photo op we couldn't miss.

Lolita #outfitrole ON, glasses and lips on point, and here we go! The weather nearly melt us along the way, but it was totes worth it.

WHAT I WORE:

L from the Block meets Snoop Dogg

HAPPY NEW YEAR, CARELESS READERS!

Everyday that passes I believe more that #AgeIsJustANumber. Probably to my benefit, since I am turning 30 this year, ha!

I think of fashion, and I feel the same rule applies. Come to think of it, we are actually going backwards. My beloved 90s are everywhere I go, and it seems to be a trend that is here to stay, at least for a while.

So, I decided to sit back, relax, and take it all in. After all, that's my era, and I could care less about what people say, 90s were awesome. Logos? Check. Mom Jeans? Check. Lolita Sunglasses? Why not. More Logos? Hell yes! Result: what you have below.

Cherry Funk

Photo 15-10-2017, 12 56 56.jpg

Autumn is here, and despite what everybody says, I quite like it. There’s fall leaves everywhere (have you walk through a park yet? SO FUN!), lots of pumpkin and chestnut dishes and warm cider is starting to make its appearances. YIKES! Not to mention those cosy nights at the pub…C’mon guys, what’s not to like?

As I was touring the streets of West London over the weekend (which seems so far now that I live in Dalston), we passed through Kynance Mews and couldn’t help but take some nice pictures there. I envy (and pitty) the people who live in such beautiful places, do you think they get annoyed by the amount of people standing at their door taking photos? I wonder.

I am enjoying taking on more relaxed looks lately. Less high heels and more kitten heels, jeans and a comfy shirt. Always Frida Nipple, though. That does not change.

In any case, walking around these clean white streets reminded me how pretty this side of the city is. I miss it sometimes.

A Date In Primrose Hill

Everybody knows Shoreditch, Hackney and London Fields as the perfect summer hangout, but about Primrose Hill? Definitely one of my favorite daytime areas to wonder around, specially over summer!

Primrose Hill is rather residential when compared to East London, but its vibe is still pretty damn cool. People are more posh here, but they tend to have a relaxed attitude about it. Streets are cleaner and pretty, fulled with designer shops, antique boutiques and organic food shops, cafes and restaurants.

If you ask me, a perfect day in North London starts by strolling down Regent's Street Rd, from Chalk Farm Station down to Regent's Park back entrance. Of course, parading around Primrose Hill to take in the breathtaking views of the city is mandatory.

I love starting my day by having a coffee at The Little One Coffee shop. It's a tiny place, almost unnoticeable, but their stuff is fantastic. You know I love my coffee and, I am telling you, this is a TCB Certified Good-To-Go place. Also, they have the most amazing snacks to go with my coffee: Pastel de Nata (MY FAAAAVE!) and Bolinha de Queijo, which basically means puffed cheese balls. YUM?

After your coffee fix is sorted, you can relax and pamper yourself at Cowshed Spa, literally within seconds distance, or continue strolling down the road. I love grocery shopping here, they have lots fresh produce. Fresh crispy bread and great cakes at Sweet Things or Primrose Hill Bakery or a bit of everything from Shepherd's Food. I particularly like this place because they always showcasing new businesses and new products in their front door. In fact, that's how I met Une Normande a Londres, which now sells all sorts of cheeses and cured meats (Hello, saucisson sec? OBSESSED!) in Borough Market.

Now you've got food, what else? Grab a book at Primrose Hill Books or the newspaper at the local newsagent and head to the park! If it's a lovely day, you can stay there for hours, take in the sun and enjoy the view, probably the best to see the London skyline.

Of course if sitting on the grass is not really your thing, you can people-watch at The Queen's while sipping a drink and then move on to Lemonia for a deliciously cooked Greek Meal. Afterwards you'll want to walk down your meal, trust me.

Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes (that can be a nice pair of heels, surely?), but don't forget: comfortable do not mean dressing down, just dressing accordingly; and always, ALWAYS, in style.
