Galentines Day
/Who needs a man when you’ve got such good girlfriends? Happy #Galentines day my lovers!
This has been such a great weekend. I don’t think I could have had it any better. Lots of outing and catching up with friends while discovering new bits of London. HOORAY!
For this special occasion that is Galentines (yep, this is a thing!), my #spanishgirlsquad and I decided to wander around Marylebone. Let me tell you: it is such a beautiful and endearing neighbourhood! It seems utterly urban but has that parisien atmosphere that makes it ridiculously charming. The perfect gal-pal tour: lots of cafés, nice shops, markets and walks. What else is there?
We started of at The Ivy Café, which just opened a couple of months ago. Same deal as the other 2-3 branches but better as it is much neat and quieter. After indulging into a delicious full-breakfast (we girls do not spare on food) we decided to head to The Wallace Palace for a bit of culture.
This hidden gem is a georgian townhouse who belonged to a very rich family back in the day. They decided to donate it to the nation on the condition it would never go on auction. And Hell, it is nice in there! The palace has 25 rooms which hold about 5,500 pieces of French decorative arts and Old Masters. You can also have a meal in their beautiful indoors café, although this might cost you a few pennies.
Of course every trip to Marylebone needs a stop over at Daunt Books. Have you not seen everybody wearing their tote bag with pride yet? Such a cute old-school bookshop. After that we decided to get lost and ended up discovering so many other restaurants and cafés that I am certain I will have to go back to this area. The Marylebone seemed great for drinks & cocktails, Coco Momo for lunch and Monocle Café for some chilled afternoon coffee session.
All in all it was just too good to be true. So listen to me, go out and enjoy it. It’s a perfect day in the city.
